Academic Integrity Policy

The purpose of this policy is to clarify the importance of integrity for all beneficiaries of the services of First Simulation Academy within the e-learning training environment, to explain the forms of integrity violations, and to outline the procedures and penalties that First Simulation Academy applies in cases of integrity breaches in the e-learning environment. This policy also aims to reduce the occurrence of such violations.

Concept of Integrity and Its Importance

Integrity is considered one of the fundamental values in any institution or work environment, including First Simulation Academy.

The concept of integrity refers to acting with honesty and transparency without resorting to cheating or deception in any dealings or activities. In other words, integrity is reflected in individuals’ compliance with ethical standards and applicable laws, and in avoiding any unethical or illegal practices.

Forms of Integrity Violations

Cheating in examinations: This includes the use of unauthorized sources during online examinations, such as searching the internet or using written notes.

Submission of non-original work: This includes submitting assignments or projects that have been copied or plagiarized from other sources without permission or proper citation.

Unauthorized collaboration: This refers to collaboration between trainees to complete assignments or examinations in unlawful or unethical ways.

Falsification of information: This includes providing false or inaccurate information in assignments or reports required in the e-learning environment.

Use of prohibited materials: This includes the use of unauthorized materials, such as books or handouts, during examinations or training tasks.

Manipulation of results: This includes altering or falsifying results through illegal or unauthorized means to obtain better outcomes.

Bias: This includes granting preferential treatment to certain trainees at the expense of others without legal or ethical justification.

These examples represent only some forms of integrity violations in the e-learning training environment. Educational institutions and training centers continue to face ongoing challenges in limiting such practices and maintaining a fair and ethical learning environment for all participants.

Procedures and Penalties for Integrity Violations

Procedures:

The procedures followed in cases of integrity violations include notifying the concerned parties, including trainees, trainers, and administrative staff, and suspending the individual’s access to the platform until the matter has been investigated and verified.
